“We loved working with Rebecca! We called her because we needed help with potty training and general obedience. At the end of 6 lessons we were shocked at how far our sweet puppy had come! No more accidents, better manners, learned to sit, come, and even wait at the open door until it was time to go outside. My two young daughters loved working with Rebecca too. She was patient with their questions and explained puppy logic in a way that they understood.”

“Rebecca Johnson is an excellent Certified Professional Dog Trainer. She was always prompt, very knowledgeable and enjoyable to work with. Our dog Cooper, quickly bonded with her, and completely trusted her throughout his training. We had six lessons with her, and it was apparent that Cooper benefited from his training. We would highly recommend Rebecca for your dog training.”

“Before we called Rebecca, our biggest issues with our puppy were aggressive behavior, territorial behavior, not listening, jumping, and chewing on stuff he shouldn’t. after 6 weeks of Rebecca’s help, fender is fully crate trained with the use of the word “bed”, he hasn’t shown any signs of aggressive or territorial behavior towards us, he feels more comfortable around us, he listens to the things we’ve implemented thanks to Rebecca, and he knows several new commands to help with walks, going to bed, and getting off furniture! Rebecca is great at what she does! if you want some great dog training, call The Family Dog Trainer, LLC !!!

“I would strongly recommend Rebecca to anyone that is looking to improve their relationship with their dog. In just a few short weeks, I have already noticed significant changes in my dog’s behavior both inside and outside the home. Before we began training, my dog would bolt out the door, jump on people, and pull against his leash for the entirety of our walks. Now she’s taught him the value of waiting patiently when the door is opened, keeping all four paws on the ground, and walking calmly by my side.

Rebecca is clearly knowledgeable in her field. She understands not only dogs, but people as well, and brings expert insight into how they interact. Rebecca is professional and wastes no time during lessons. The skills she teaches during lessons and assigns for practice outside of class are intuitive and practical, with application to real-world scenarios. The skills to practice between lessons are time-efficient and can be practiced during the day as they fit into your schedule. It is easy to tell that Rebecca loves dogs and wants to help others have a good relationship with their dogs.”

“After 6 lessons, I can confidently take Lunabelle on walks around our neighborhood and in public. We learned stay, loose leash walking, rollover, spin, touch, come here, free, and staying calm when a doorbell rings. We worked with all 3 of ours dogs and all 3 have taken something positive from their experience.”

-Michelle Lynn Henderson

“We have only had three sessions with Rebecca and have already learned so much! We have two older small dogs and recently added a standard poodle puppy to our pack. Rebecca has helped with all three. We love that she documents what she taught us after every session. We refer to her notes over and over to help us remember. We are very pleased!”

-Julie Ruthrauff Combs

“Rebecca has done wonders with helping train our two very active puppies and then give us advice in introducing two more adult dogs to them. Her individual sessions have helped us and the dogs be more lovable and social when company comes over. Course the puppies are still a work in progress. The time spent is invaluable and we would highly recommend her for any dog and any situation! As we all know--there is no such thing as a bad dog--just one that needs training!”

-Rhonda McInnis Lowry

“Rebecca is amazing with dogs. My Attie and Jaz loved the enrichment games. We learned to do loose leash walking, sitting, down and other very impressive impulse control tools. Thanks Rebecca and thanks for being good my girls. I highly recommend this trainer.”

-La Nelle Ethridge

“I have LOVED working with Rebecca!!!! She knows her stuff, loves animals, is very professional and what/how she teaches WORKS!!! We've only worked with her 3 times now and will do a 4th, then take a break and just work on all the stuff we learned. THEN after your session she sends you an email with a recap of what we worked on in a simple form for reference, which I have to say is over the top AWESOME!!”

-Kim Sansom

“Rebecca is an amazing trainer! Within 2 sessions with my 1yr old Chocolate her jumping impulse was almost gone. She helped all the way around. Rebecca helped me communicate better with my fur baby and help my dog understand what is expected from us. I highly recommend Rebecca to anyone who wants to improve their fur baby’s behavior!”

-Tana Warrick

“After 3 training sessions with Rebecca, our Chocolate Lab, Jeanette is doing so well on her walks. This morning she kept watching me and checking in with me. We are so proud of Jeanette and the wonderful job Rebecca has done training all of us. I am no longer the sled behind my dog!”

-Gail Barnes

Rebecca is The Best Trainer! She has lots of patience and a gentle, kind manner working so professionally with our 2 scared rescues. She was recommended by the SPCA locally. Of course we were hesitant to work with a trainer for our fur babies but greatly relieved to meet Rebecca and participate in the training with our fur babies. After 6 successful and profitable trainings we decided to ask her for 6 additional classes. She agreed and we all benefitted from her training & expertise. Thank you Rebecca!”

-Doreen Hutton

“The kids just dropped a piece of chocolate on the ground and Elsa ran up and grabbed it. I went to Elsa and told her drop and she gave it to me. I gave her treats right away and she didn’t get upset at all! Thank you for your help. We will keep working on it but I already got to use it today and she did great. Thank you again. We appreciate you!”

-Elsa’s Mom, T. Robinson

“We highly recommend Rebecca! She worked with our puppy Moxie starting her off at just 6 weeks. Moxie is deaf and we learned hand commands to help communicate with her effectively. Moxie has learned how to keep eye contact, sit, stay, come, lay down, roll over, spin, stay sitting when the front door is opened, and walk along side us. We are so thankful for Rebecca! She’s the best!”

-Maddie Shoulders

“Prior to dog training, we had a very hyper and over excited labradoodle. He struggled with jumping, pulling on the leash, barking, etc. Rebecca came into our house to work with us, and we began to see improvements with him. She taught us how to implement strategies so that we could continue to use the training in everyday life. Rebecca was very easy to work with and we look forward to see our dog continue to making improvements. Would highly recommend using her if you have a dog with the same issues.”

-Carter Robinson

“Rebecca has been SO helpful with our Golden Retriever puppy, Cooper. She is very knowledgeable and provides helpful advice. Cooper is now potty trained and has learned many tricks with the help of Rebecca.”

-Ashley Reynard

“Rebecca helped so much in controlling my GS pup. She went from a high energy, crazy pup to a well behaved, calm pup. She provided me with many tools to use to achieve the balance we needed to train our baby and I’m so grateful! Fendi and I thank you for the training and tools to keep using to achieve a happy dog and happy mom.”

-Kathi Thorne

“Rebecca was very attentive to the needs of our new dog. When we first got Misty May from the shelter, she was very hyper and would jump constantly at everyone. We needed her to learn commands so that she wasn't jumping all over the small children. Rebecca was great with teaching Misty May, not only the concerns we had, but with extra "fun" commands to play games with her. I highly recommend Rebecca for your dog trainer. She is reliable and easy to work with and the price was much better than most other places.”

-Stormi Valdez

“Rebecca is an excellent dog and dog person trainer! She is all of the things you need in a trainer, and best of all, she comes to your own home to train! She is patient and kind, and just when I get discouraged with what my puppy is or is not doing, she shows me the way to get him to comply. Yes, it is more expensive to have a trainer come to your home, one on one, but it is worth every penny.”

-Lori Little

“Rebecca worked with me and my 1-year old pup, Allie, on overcoming some fears outside the home that Allie was facing. She broke down a plan into small, manageable steps and guided us through the process—ALL VIRTUALLY! We did an initial few Zoom sessions then I recorded my sessions with Allie and submitted them to her for feedback. She was so helpful with her responses and gave me guidance on how to advance when Allie was ready. Rebecca is creative, fun to work with, and truly knows her stuff! I am so pleased with our progress and am excited to continue working together.”

-Eryn Rolison

“We learned so much about our pup from Rebecca. She helped us help Marigold by teaching us the basics initially and then progressing at a natural speed towards more difficult things. Marigold warmed up to Rebecca quickly and we all had a lot of fun going through our lessons. We learned a lot about ourselves and our interactions with all our dogs. Would highly recommend Family Dog Trainer...thanks!”

-Tam Camp

“Rebecca listened to my fears about going from a geriatric dog to a puppy. Pearl learned quickly and so did I. I liked that she explained things as we went along and there was always follow up with emails about what we did and why they were important.”

-Darla Smith

Fun at-home training for our rescue pups. Emphasis on building canine confidence, social skills, and problem solving. We had fun as did the pups!

“I called Rebecca to help me learn how to handle certain behaviors with my dog Riggs and just how best to handle them. She helped with distractions, staying, how to keep his attention better and multiple other things so I can be better prepared for anything new in his environment. We appreciate her so much and Riggs just loved her and I would definitely recommend the in home training it definitely had a positive feedback.”

"I am a first time dog owner and approached training with all the nerves that come from owning a highly active and highly intelligent dog for the first time. Rebecca was a wonderful, patient, and attentive trainer, and I would recommend her services highly.

Her teaching methods were always clear, and she would start with a foundational concept and build on this. Her combination of trick training and real world scenarios were tremendously helpful to developing Merlin and each week we would notice improvements with him. Often our training was centered around obedience as enjoyment and it fed directly into Merlin's personality, leading training to be an enjoyable experience for us all.

She did not treat Merlin as a generic dog, nor the other dogs in our class, but approached each animal on a specific individual level. I would say that the thing I valued most from Rebecca was the level of care and attention she gave Merlin.  I truly felt that she cared deeply for the health and growth of my dog. I would recommend training with Rebecca at any point in the development of your dog, as I have seen her work with younger puppies, like my own, to older dogs with a variety of difficulties that they need to work with."

-Merlin’s mom

"Taking puppy class with Rebecca was one of the best decisions that my boyfriend and I made for our new puppy, Obie. It quickly became the highlight of our week. As soon as we arrived, Obie would lead us right to Rebecca, who would always greet him, and us, with an enthusiastic hello. It was really exciting to learn from someone who is obviously so excited about the work that she does. Her passion for dog training and her in depth knowledge of dog behavior helped us understand our dog and his behavior better.

Class was always safe and organized.  It was easy for us first time dog parents to follow. If Obie was having difficulty understanding a certain behavior, Rebecca could quickly figure out where the communication breakdown was. I was always very impressed with how for each dog in class she was able to give individual advice that each dog always responded positively to. Rebecca really has a gift for teaching dogs! We have had several family members and friends comment on how well behaved our dog is, and I am confident that this is because of the amazing guidance and training that we received from Rebecca.

She goes far beyond just teaching you and your dog the basic behaviors. She teaches you and your dog how to communicate and understand each other."

-Obie’s mom

"Simba just turned one year old and he went through some major traumatic experiences as a young puppy. He has anxiety leaving the comfort of the apartment, and has even more anxiety walking outside, if he walks at all. On top of his anxiety, he is not fond of men, kids, and various other people. Training sessions with Simba were hard to plan out due to having to adjust to his state of mind and degree of reactivity at the store. Rebecca was able to be flexible in regards to his training and always have a back up plan, just in case what was planned for the day did not work out. Through working with Rebecca, I'm now able to get Simba to go in and out of doors easily without having to drag or carry him through to go outside to potty. His barking and reactions to people has dramatically decreased. Simba is a changed dog and it is highly noticeable by Rebecca's manager and co-workers, along with my neighbors, who saw how Simba acted before we worked with Rebecca.

Rebecca is full of patience and is a great listener. She doesn't give up. If she doesn't have an answer to something, she would seek advice and help to get my question answered. "

-Simba’s mom

"Rebecca is a very talented dog trainer, has excellent communication skills, and takes her work very seriously. Tucker, our puppy, was incredibly energetic and full of life. We loved him right away, but we came to Rebecca in a state of panic because we did not know how to help our dog behave. Within five minutes of the first class, I knew we were in good hands with Rebecca. I am now able to take Tucker to school on Fridays, where he lies down and the students read to him. As a public school teacher, I also recognize qualities in Rebecca that make her a highly effective instructor. She was always very clear in her instructions, modeled so that we understood, and followed through with effective and succinct feedback. She encouraged us along the way, never making us feel bad when it was our dog who wasn't listening or it was clear we hadn't practiced a certain skill. She was unwavering in her praise and calm demeanor that helped us and our pup feel completely comfortable. Rebecca is committed to the dogs and their families she works with, and this is evident when you spend any time with her."

-Tucker’s mom

"Rebecca was highly knowledgeable, patient, friendly, personable, and took great care to gain the trust of my puppy. Her training and communication was very effective to get quick results with working with Sadie at home to survive the puppy stages. I thank her greatly for showing me the intelligence of Sadi, as well as building a stronger relationship with her."
