Help for every stage of your dog’s life—and yours!
From teenage puppy to adult dog, I’m here to turn frustration into fun with positive dog training!
Pulling on walks?
Did you envision your dog being your walking buddy, but now you dread walks instead? You’re worried about getting yanked onto your knees or being embarrassed by comments or looks fellow walkers shoot your way?
Look forward to putting on your dog’s leash! You can enjoy a relaxing walk, confident in your dog’s ability to stay close by.
“I am no longer the sled behind my dog.”

Jumping on everyone?
Are you embarrassed by friends and family members’ complaining about your dog jumping? Are you frustrated by muddy paws on your nice clothes?
With training, you can anticipate compliments and feel confident hosting guests for a peaceful evening.
“Within 2 sessions with my 1yr old chocolate lab, her jumping impulse was almost gone. She helped all the way around. Rebecca helped me communicate better with my fur baby and helped my dog understand what is expected from us.”

Escaping front door?
Do you hold your breath every time you open your front door to receive a package or welcome a friend in, worried that your dog will bolt out and get injured or lost?
Experience peace of mind that an open door results in your dog waiting for your ok to go outside.
“He knows to sit and wait until I give him the cue to walk with me when I am ready. He also knows to wait with me while I lock up the house and is no longer trying to drag me down the driveway. It is so much more pleasant to take him for a walk or even just to get to the car.”

On edge that your dogs started fighting out of the blue, after many years of being playmates and snuggle mates?
Let’s bring relief to the tension so your home can return to being your oasis.
Worried when you need your dog to move because last time you tried to move her she bit you?
Let’s build confidence and your dog’s skills to move from one place to another.
“We were worried we were going to have to put our dog down due to aggression. That’s not the case anymore. We wish we found Rebecca sooner.”
Shy or skittish?
Your husband was ecstatic when ya’ll brought home a new best furry friend and now is crushed that Fluffy is scared of him and his male friends, yet loves snuggling you?
You envisioned introducing your newly adopted dog to all your friends at your next BBQ, but instead she ran upstairs to hide from all?
It’s hard not to have your feelings hurt when a dog is skittish and scared, even when around gentle and loving voices and hands.
Let’s boost your dog’s confidence so you both can enjoy life’s adventures together.
“Rebecca was amazing! My dog, who was scared of everyone loved her and she built a lot of confidence and manners over the past few weeks from working with Rebecca. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone!”

Rebecca is AMAZING! We have a high energy pup, who is super smart, and we needed help. Rebecca did such a great job of tailoring our training to our dogs needs. We've had such good results, and really enjoyed working with Rebecca who is so personable and genuinely invested in you and your dogs training journey. Absolutely recommend!

In-home private dog training lessons are just like a sports practice or music lesson. I show the dog a skill, then you show the dog the same skill. There’s opportunity to ask questions. You practice the skills during the week. At the next lessson, we de-brief and then build on the skills from the week before. You play an important role in your dog ’s training success!
Behavior Packages
These 2 package options are perfect for dogs with “big feelings”. Whether your dog is barking/lunging/growling or cowering and hiding.
The behavior packages provides customized lessons to teach management, safety, and behavior modification skills. Both aggressive dogs and skittish dogs experience lots of “big feelings,” so the focus of these packages don’t just focus on obedience skills, but rather skills to help emotionally regulate the dog so they can be successful around what triggers their big feelings, whether it’s a human, a dog, or a vacuum being turned on.

Rebecca has been an absolutely fabulous trainer for our dog! He is a young German Shepherd who did not have much socialization as a puppy and as a result has anxiety about meeting new people. His comfort level has risen by leaps and bounds since we started working with Rebecca. He now has tools he can use with predictable patterns that allow him to feel more relaxed when new people enter our house and help him to greet them politely. He LOVES Rebecca so much; it is incredibly heartwarming to see how she has gone from new person he wasn’t sure about to one of his best buddies. In addition, Rebecca has helped Winston feel more comfortable at the vet, a seemingly impossible task; previously we dreaded going to the vet because of his negative associations with it but now she has helped him to create positive, less scary associations. Her suggestion to actually go to the vet and practice there without an appointment was so helpful; his ability to take on this challenge without becoming overly anxious truly felt like a miracle. We are so proud of how far he has come. We have had other trainers in the past but there are several points that set Rebecca apart.”

“Rebecca was INCREDIBLE! We saw significant improvements in our dog Ellie after using The Family Dog Trainer. Ellie was extremely skiddish and scared of strangers before Rebecca's training, but this past week we had multiple visitors and not once did she run off and hide in her "bedroom" while they were in the living room. She has shown so much social improvement. Our dog is a completely unsocialized and anxious 4 year old sighthound and we were scared nothing would help her come out of her shell, but the lessons and games Rebecca taught us to do with Ellie helped her tremendously. Our dog has gained so much more confidence and we are so grateful that we chose to use the Family Dog Trainer!”

You can teach a dog at any age! In fact, you CAN teach an old dog new tricks!
-
Yummy treats. The ones that are soft and can be broken into smaller pieces (think Tic Tac size) are best.
Leash. No retractable, please.
Nylon or leather collar or harness.
Treat pouch that ties around your waist or clips, in order to free up your hands!
A non-slip bath mat (fuzzy on top to keep treats from bouncing away and non-slip so it doesn’t slide when your dog gets on it).
Proof of up-to-date rabies vaccine.

Absolutely! I love when puppy training is a family activity! It’s a great way for kids to have fun with their new furry family member. It’s also a confidence booster for kids that are a little hesitant around the puppy’s piranha teeth and pogo jumping.
“It was a great experience working with Rebecca. She provided training for our entire family, ensuring that everyone was involved in working with our pup. Since our puppy is a large breed, we knew we needed professional guidance, and Rebecca’s expertise was invaluable. Our puppy absolutely loved her! She taught us valuable tricks that were especially helpful in allowing our daughter to interact with the puppy in a positive and constructive way. We truly appreciate her help and highly recommend her!”

It’s unethical to guarantee specific training results. Doing so is a false promise – no one can guarantee the behavior of another living being capable of independent decision making. It’s like a gymnastics coach promising that all their new students will be able to do complete splits in 30 days.
As a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) and a licensed Family Paws Parent Educator, my memberships commit me to ethical guidelines and continuing education to stay on top of the best standards in the field.
While specific behavioral guarantees are a red flag, I do guarantee excellent client service and top-notch support to set you and your dog up for success. I offer customized positive reinforcement training packages to address your goals and fit your lifestyle. I want to replace your pet parent stress with success and bring some calm to the chaos.
